Fresh peas are a spring treat at Southern California farmers markets, usually one of the first signs the season is turning. The candle, of course, is in season year-round.

I always tell people the best changes are the small ones you'll actually keep. Swapping in a 100% beeswax candle is one of the easiest, and this little pea pod makes it feel like spring.

Spring tables, place settings, low-tox homes, kitchen windowsills, garden lovers, gift boxes, and anyone who eats peas straight from the pod.

Place on a stable, heat-resistant plate before lighting to collect melted wax. Trim the wick to about 1/4 in before each use. Keep away from drafts, children, pets and flammable materials, and never leave a burning candle unattended.

Store in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct sun.

Melisa Home is a one-person, small-batch candle studio that began in 2020 with a single candle in Ukraine, and is now being rebuilt in California.
